Your Coach
Hi, I’m Dominic Liddell. I’m here to support you in navigating your life’s journey.
As a Black, queer, trans, and polyamorous person, I understand that creating a life that feels authentic often means questioning expectations, redefining what success looks like, and finding the confidence to choose a path that genuinely fits who you are.
My coaching is grounded in the belief that personal development isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming more intentional about the person you want to be. I work with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what comes next, helping them gain clarity, navigate challenges, and turn their intentions into meaningful action.
Through coaching, workshops, and community conversations, I create space for honest reflection without judgment and practical strategies without the pressure to have everything figured out. If you’re ready to build a life that feels more like your own, I’d love to be part of that process.

Process
1:1 Personal Development Coaching
This is personal, on purpose. I’ll work with you to build a process that’s tailored around your life, your goals, and your challenges.

Ready to get started?
01
Discuss and evaluate
We’ll start with a conversation. I want to hear where you are, what’s weighing on you, and what you’re hoping to change — so we can figure out together what support actually looks like for you.
02
Chart your path
We’ll map out where you want to go and what’s actually going to get you there. A path that is realistic, flexible, and built around what actually matters to you.
03
Move Forward
Change doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen alone. I’ll provide the support and accountability to help you follow through, one real step at a time.
04
Experience clarity and confidence
What we build together doesn’t end when the goals are met. You’ll carry the clarity and confidence forward, into whatever comes next.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching and therapy are different, though they can complement each other. Therapy often focuses on healing and processing the past. Coaching is future-focused: it’s about helping you get clear on your goals and take action toward them. I’m not a therapist, and coaching isn’t a substitute for therapy. If you’re working through something that needs clinical support, I’ll always encourage you to seek that out alongside our work together.
Is personal development coaching right for me?
If you’re ready to commit to real change, coaching can help. Maybe that looks like finally naming what’s been holding you back, building real confidence, or taking action instead of staying stuck in planning mode. If you’re ready to invest in yourself and want support navigating this transition, coaching could be exactly what you need.
That’s exactly what the first conversation is for. It’s a complimentary judgment-free honest conversation. No pressure to continue if it’s not the right fit.
What if I don’t have a major life transition?
You don’t need a major life shift to benefit from coaching. Sometimes it’s less about a big transition and more about breaking a pattern — the stagnation, the goals you keep putting off, the confidence you haven’t quite found yet. Coaching meets you there too.
Do you work with clients outside Chicago?
sessions are available online no matter where you’re located
How do sessions work?
No two sessions look the same, because no two people are working through the same thing.
What stays consistent is this: a confidential space to be honest about what’s hard, identify what’s standing in your way, and walk away with real action steps. We’ll celebrate your progress as you go along. And after every session, you’ll get a written recap with your action items, so nothing gets lost between now and our next conversation.
Most sessions take place online for flexibility, with in-person options available for those in the Chicago area. Sessions are typically 60 minutes.
When will I start seeing results?
Everyone’s timeline looks different. It depends on where you’re starting from and what you’re working toward. What I can promise is consistency brings results: showing up, doing the work together, and building momentum one session at a time.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens. You can reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice at no cost. Late cancellations and no-shows are counted as used sessions. Full Policy ->
How do you handle privacy?
What you share with me one-on-one stays confidential. In group settings, I ask everyone to respect each other’s privacy so the space stays safe for honest conversation.
What are the costs?
Coaching should be accessible. I offer sliding scale pricing, split payments, pay-in-full, and barter options. If cost is a barrier, let’s talk about it during your discovery call. I want financial concerns to be the last thing standing between you and support.”
Do you take insurance?
No, I don’t take insurance. Coaching is a wellness investment you make directly, not a billable medical service — which also means our work together stays flexible and isn’t tied to a diagnosis or treatment plan.

- What Life Coaches Do
You know what a therapist does, and you know what a friend does. But what does a life coach do? Here’s an honest look at how I work with clients: the framework, the unlearning, and why it’s neither therapy nor a heart-to-heart with a friend.” - What Does A Life Coach Charge? Here’s An Honest Answer

“A life coach is just someone who doesn’t have it all together.” You’ve heard the joke. But if you’re actually trying to figure out whether a coach is legit, that’s not the claim to worry about. The one that should raise a flag is the opposite: a coach telling you they’ve got it all handled. - Life Coach or Therapist? Here’s How to Pick the Right One
Ever sit down with someone, whether it’s a life coach or a therapist, and realize halfway through that you’re not even sure what you’re supposed to be getting out of it? You’re not alone in that. TL;DR: Good advice from a friend can point you in the right direction, but it rarely creates lasting change. Life coaches aren’t paid friends; they’re trained to spot the pattern behind your decisions, ask the questions friends won’t, and hold you accountable to actual change over time.
